Whatever the kind of fish that you want to catch, it depends on the fish bait. In other words, it determines the catching. Generally, the fish bait divided into: natural and artificial fish bait. The criteria of them used for fishing depend on the kinds of fish (saltwater or freshwater fish). That is why, your knowledge about the fish bait becomes your basic ability for fishing.

Natural Bali
Goldfish is one of the examples of freshwater fish. Natural bait covers plants, for example: some kinds of algae; and animal, for examples: some kinds of worm, small shrimp or fish, a kind of freshwater shell, larva of insect or insect itself, caterpillar of banana leaf, bee, larva of bee and also red ant eggs, called kroto. You must be careful when you set the fish bait (live bait) to the fishhook. Try to keep it alive on the water, in order to attract the fish. You can placed it on the surface, in or at the bottom of water. Some effective live bait to fish the goldfish are red worm, earthworm and red ant eggs. It is very easy to set the worm to the fishhook. First, hold the worm with your left fingers then prick its body, around its head (considered that a worm has a head and tail) with your right fingers. Follow the shape of fishhook then take out the top of fishhook from its body, around the tail. If it is too long, you may cut it first. Moreover, if you use red ant eggs as the fish bait, just place two or three of them in a fishhook. Be sure that you prick them on the right position, that is right on their chest.

Conventional Bait
Conventional fish bait here means manufactured fish bait made from fish flour that mixes with other materials until it is compact, called pelet.. Pelet is usually given at the beginning of raise fish, because it is easy to use, practical and it helps fish grow fast through its protein and nutrient content. It is also commonly used by fishermen while the other concoction owned by fishermen themselves. Now you can find pelet at fishing stores. Moreover, it is also imported from abroad, for example: Marukyu pelet from Japan, aroma stimulus produced by Berkley, etc. Generally, here is a simple way to make concoction of fish bait:
Composition: 1 pocket of pelet powder, 1 can of sardine and 1 egg of Manila duck.
Making instructions: Clean up and crush the sardine then mix it with the egg yolk. Then mix it with pelet little by little and add it some water so that it is ready to use (you may also add red ant eggs to it). Covered the dough by a wet napkin to keep it save from sunray and flies.
If you want to use it for fishing, just roll it into pellets then stick it to fishhook. You must adjust the fish bait to the size of fishhook. Your experiences will teach you to how get the appropriate concoction and measuring of fish bait.

Special Bait
It is called special fish bait because it is made by fishermen themselves, especially for fishing contest. So don’t be surprised if you find a variety of fish bait and aroma, because fishermen have their own special concoction of fish bait in order to win the contest. They made it from high protein materials and they prepared for it several days before the contest held.

Spreading Bait
Spreading fish bait here means that you spread fish bait to certain places purposely on a fishing area. It is very effective to attract fish to come together to those places. You need to consider some points where you are going to spread the fish bait because you will place the true fish bait there. Then you must pay attention to the points that you have made. So, do not hesitate to spread the fish bait if it is allowed in fishing contest. However, if it is prohibited then you can try another way to spread it. Put a bigger pelet on your fishhook then throw and pull it out when it has reached a certain point on the water. Do this for several times until you are ready to fish.
